Head coach of Azerbaijani national Koshiki Karate-do team: 'We have achieved successful result'

Nazim Movsumzada, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national Koshiki Karate-do team, who won medals at the international tournament in Okinawa, Japan, made a statement to journalists in Baku.

The head coach said that 15 countries participated in that competition: "We have achieved a successful result. We tried to show our skills in the tournament and took first place in the team score. The athletes worked hard and had their say in the competition. We have always tried to be an example for them. I would like to thank the honorary president of the Azerbaijan Koshiki Karate-do Federation, Adnan Ahmadzade, and the president of the Federation, Rafael Bunyatov. They have been very supportive and have provided us with comprehensive assistance. As Mr. President Ilham Aliyev said, the iron fist is in place. Long live Azerbaijan!"

Sevinj Movsumzada, competing in the 50 kg weight class, thanked the federation management for creating conditions for participation in the tournament: "I beat athletes from Australia, Japan, and New Zealand. I was even happier when my father Nazim Movsumzada won a gold medal."

Kanan Ismayilzada (60 kg) said that the first and final matches were difficult: "I successively beat Australia, New Zealand and again the representative of Australia. I am happy to win the gold medal and to wave our flag. I was very excited because it was my first international competition. But we were well prepared and expected to win such a result."
