Four-time world champion: 'Azerbaijan created excellent conditions for us to achieve high results'

"Excellent conditions have been created for us to achieve high results. That's why it's logical that our compatriots, representing not only wrestling but also other sports, return to Azerbaijan with brilliant results," Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg), who returned home with a gold medal from the World Wrestling Championships in non-Olympic weight categories held in Tirana, told journalists, Report informs.

"Today I'm happy not only about my victory but also about the team's victory. For the second time in history, we became champions in the team standings and outscored other countries in points. The fact that I became world champion for the fourth time is also considered a record result in our country's wrestling history. I'm grateful to everyone who contributed," said Azizli.

The 32-year-old athlete expressed special gratitude to the coaching staff: "Our coaches are the invisible side of the work. I thank both the club and national team coaching staff."

Eldaniz Azizli also won world championships in 2018, 2022, and 2023.
