First Games of Commonwealth of Independent States may be held

Baku. 12 December. REPORT.AZ/ The first Games of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) may be held, Russia's Sport Minister Pavel Kolobkov said.

Report informs citing TASS that such the Russia's Sport Minister Pavel Kolobkov spoke at the meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. Kolobkov proposed to organize the CIS Games in Russian city Kazan: "We are ready to take over the organization of the 1st ICT Games in Kazan in 2020. I am confident that the co-organization of such a spectacular sport event will be important to show that people, cultures and visions from different backgrounds come together in sport. We are ready to act as the organizer of the first CIS Games and to hold this race in Kazan. "

The CIS was established on December 8, 1991. The real members of the organization are Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Notably, the first European Games were held in Baku in 2015. The 2nd European Games will be held in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, from 21 to 30 June 2019.
