FIDE’s President dismissed from his post

Baku. 13 July. REPORT.AZ/ Ethics Committee of International Chess Federation (FIDE) has dismissed Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the president of the organization, from his post.

Report informs, The FIDE Ethics Commission unanimously made a decision. Ilyumzhinov is accused of violating the Code of Ethics. Authorities of the 56-year-old president have been frozen for 18 months now. Immediate disqualification will take effect from 6 months to 12 January 2019. The remaining 12-month disqualification will be applied after 2 years.

FIFA Presidential Elections will be held on October 3 in Batumi, Georgia. Ilyumzhinov has worked in this post since November 1995.

Notably,Russian Arkady Dvorkovich is the main candidate for the post of head of the chess board.
