Azerbaijani representatives have won their first medal at the President's Cup 2026 international regatta in rowing and canoeing, dedicated to the 103rd birth anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, held in Sugovushan.
Report informs that Alimurad Hajizada won the silver award in the single kayak event.
He finished second over the 200-meter distance in the competition among athletes born in 2008-2009.
Maksim Ivliyev from Uzbekistan won gold, and Maarten Wulff from Germany won the bronze medal.
Along with Azerbaijan, more than 100 athletes from Czechia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Tajikistan, Türkiye, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan are participating in the tournament. The regatta will conclude on May 1.
