Azerbaijani Olympic champion: "I will fly like a butterfly"

Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter, Olympic champion Radik Isayev told Report. The 31-year-old athlete, who is currently in the Akhty region of Dagestan said that neither he, nor his family members, nor relatives were infected with the coronavirus.

Isayev said that his close friend was diagnosed with the virus when he was taken to the hospital with a diagnosis of bilateral pneumonia: "My friend is still in bed and breathing heavily."

The titled athlete also said he wanted to return to Azerbaijan after the borders were opened: "I believe that when I return, I will fly like a butterfly in the gym (laughs)."

Isayev confirmed that the number of infected people is high in Dagestan.

Notably, Radik Isayev won a gold medal at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. He was the world champion in 2015 and the European champion in 2014 and 2018. Isayev also won a gold medal at the Baku 2015 I European Games and the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games.
