Azerbaijani judoka Zelym Kotsoiev claimed a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, Report informs.

Kotsoiev defeated Georgian Ilia Sulamanidze in the men’s -100 kg final.

Azerbaijani judoka Zelym Kotsoiev has reached the final of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games after defeating Uzbek Muzaffarbek Turoboyev with a waza-ari, Report informs via AZERTAC.

He will face Georgian Ilia Sulamanidze in the men’s -100 kg final.

Kotsoiev defeated Piotr Kuczera (Poland) in the 1/8 final stage and Peter Paltchik (Israel) in the quarterfinal.

Azerbaijani judoka Zelym Kotsoiev has commenced his journey at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games with a victory, Report informs.

Competing in the 100 kg weight category, the world champion faced Piotr Kuczera (Poland) in the 1/8 final stage.

After defeating his opponent, Kotsoiev advanced to the 1/4 finals.

He will face Peter Paltchik (Israel) in the next round.

The Paris 2024 Olympics will conclude on August 11. Earlier, Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) secured a gold medal.
