Azerbaijani chess player becomes world champion

Azerbaijani chess player Ayan Allahverdiyeva won a gold medal at the U18 world chess championship held in Montesilvano, Italy, Report informs.

She scored 9.5 points in 11 games and outscored all her opponents.

Note that about 1,000 chess players from 94 countries are participating in the competition.
