Azerbaijani badminton player claims silver in international tournament

Baku. 3 September. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani badminton player Edi Reski Dvicayo claimed a silver medal in the RSK Kharkiv International tournament held in Ukraine's Kharkiv.

Report informs citing the press service of the Federation that starting the tournament from the main stage Dvicayo upset his opponents from Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Moldova and Denmark on the way to the final. In the decisive encounter he lost to his Czech rival Jan Louda 0:2. Ending up second in the tournament, the athlete claimed the silver in this influential competition.

This is the first medal brought to Azerbaijan in the tournament of 'International Challenge' category. Though Ezmi Goviumuramadhoni reached the main stage from the qualifiers, he lost to Moldova's Christian Savin in the final of 16.

Notably, the tournament involved 202 badminton players from 35 countries.
