Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil kicks off sports competitions dedicated to Victory Day

Today, the academic Mehdi Mehdizada secondary school in Jabrayil city, Azerbaijan kicked off sports competitions in various disciplines for the first time, dedicated to the November 8 Victory Day, Report informs.

The event was organized jointly by the Special Representation of the President of Azerbaijan in Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, the Eastern Zangazur Regional Youth and Sports Department, and the Eastern Zangazur Regional Education Department.

Before the competitions began, the National Anthem was played and a minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of those who lost their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of the country.

Speakers highlighted the victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, emphasizing that Victory Day is a golden page in Azerbaijan's history.

The mentioned event brought together 192 students from Jojuq Marjanli village school in Jabrayil district, Aghali village school in Zangilan district, and the academic Mehdi Mehdizada secondary school in Jabrayil city.

Students are competing in football, volleyball, checkers, basketball, etc. The winning teams will be awarded medals, cups, and certificates.
