Azerbaijan’s junior diving national team secured three gold medals at the 12th Sofia Cup, an international tournament held in Bulgaria, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation.
The team was represented by Amina Hasanbayova, Ayla Huseynova, Magsud Tahirli, Mehri Aghayeva, and Muhammad Huseynov, under the guidance of head coach Anton Melnikov.
All three gold medals were won by Magsud Tahirli, who delivered standout performances in three events—diving from the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards, as well as the 5-meter platform—outscoring his competitors in each category.
The tournament drew more than 160 athletes from 11 countries, including Bulgaria, Germany, Lithuania, Hungary, Norway, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Türkiye, Greece, and Azerbaijan.
