American figure skaters awarded chocolate gold medals for Beijing Olympics

American figure skaters who competed as part of the national team at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing were awarded chocolate gold medals, US figure skater Alexa Knirim said on Instagram.

The award ceremony was held as part of the Figure Skating in Harlem Festival. During it, the American figure skaters were presented as the winners of the Beijing Olympics.

"A chocolate gold medal to fill the void while we wait," Knirim captioned her post.
