Defendant David Babayan, answering the state prosecutor's question during the trial that continued at the Baku Military Court on April 7, said that while he was the "foreign minister" of the illegal organization established in the once-occupied territories of Azerbaijan, he traveled abroad as a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, Report informs.
"Certain individuals [meaning 'officials' of the illegal regime] also had diplomatic passports. Just like our ordinary passports, diplomatic passports were also Armenian," Babayan.
The 15 individuals of Armenian origin are accused of crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, including waging an aggressive war, genocide, forced displacement of the population, persecution, torture, looting and other illegal acts committed against Azerbaijan and its people by the Armenian state and its armed forces, including the so-called "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic" established by Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, and its illegal armed formations.
