Four criminal cases related to Tovuz battles were initiated and a preliminary investigation was conducted, Senior Assistant to the Prosecutor General for Special Assignments Ilgar Safarov said at a joint briefing of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the crimes committed by the Armed Forces of Armenia and illegal Armenian armed groups against Azerbaijan since 1988.
He said that on July 14-16, 2020, as a result of shelling of the Tovuz and Gazakh districts from various firearms and mortars, one person died, six civilians were injured in the Gazakh district, and 65 residents of Tovuz district suffered material damage of various amounts due to the destruction of their houses:
"In July 2020, 12 military personnel were intentionally killed and 65 military personnel were attempted to be killed as a result of Armenian aggression in the direction of the Tovuz district of the state border."
