Man accused of cooperation with Armenian special services standing trial in Baku

A preliminary hearing was held on the criminal case of Emil Mammadov, who is accused of collaborating with the Armenian special services.

Report informs that the personal data of the accused were clarified at the trial chaired by the judge of the Baku Grave Crimes Court Siyavush Hajiyev.

It was established that Mammadov has a university education, he has four children.

The next court session is scheduled for January 10.

Mammadov was arrested by the State Security Service in March this year.

During the investigation, reasonable suspicions were revealed that Emil Mammadov, to the detriment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, state security and defense capabilities of Azerbaijan, met in the territory of a third country with employees of the Armenian special services and was involved in secret cooperation in exchange for a monetary reward.

He was charged under article 274 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan
