India coronavirus: 4,378 cases reported with 480 deaths

Total COVID-19 cases in India today has gone up to 14,378. The total Coronavirus death toll in India is 480 today. The total number of COVID-19 cases includes 11,906 active cases, 1992 cured/discharged/migrated, and 480 deaths, according to the latest data of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. In the last 24 hours, as many as 991 new COVID-19 cases and 43 deaths have been reported. The number of Coronavirus cases and the death toll due to the disease is growing across the country.

On 24 March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered a nationwide lockdown for 21 days, limiting movement of the entire 1.3 billion population of India as a preventive measure against the 2020 coronavirus pandemic in India. It was ordered after a 14-hour voluntary public curfew on 22 March, followed by enforcement of a series of regulations in the country's COVID-19 affected regions. The lockdown was placed when the number of confirmed positive coronavirus cases in India was approximately 500.
