Human bones discovered in Aghdam

Fifteen bones of people killed in 1993 were discovered in Aghdam, the district prosecutor's office told Report.

An investigation was launched after the application submitted to the district prosecutor's office that several Azerbaijani citizens were killed by Armenian military units in the area of Sarijali village of the Aghdam district on July 24, 1993, and buried in that area.

On November 22, with the participation of the forensic expert, excavation works were carried out on the right and left sides of the Aghjabadi-Aghdam road passing through the Sarijali village of the district, using special technical means.

During the excavations, 15 bones believed to belong to humans were found in the mentioned area and were packed and taken away for examination.

The investigation is currently ongoing.

Human bones, probably killed and buried 30 years ago, were discovered in Aghdam, the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) told Report.

Based on information received on November 22, human bones were found during the excavations conducted in Saricali village of the liberated Aghdam district with the participation of police, the prosecutor's office, and security service employees.

They were probably killed and buried in 1992.

The bones have been handed over to forensic examination to determine identities.
