Georgia's former presidential residence granted new status

The status of former Presidential Residence located in the Avlabari district of Tbilisi, Georgia has been changed.

Local Bureau of Report News Agency informs that the due statement came by spokesperson for Georgian President Khatia Moistrapishvili.

According to him, the Residence will function as a Palace of State Conventions: "The former residence will fulfill a new function. President, the government and the parliament agreed in this regard. The government will make a decision on this issue."

Notably, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili refused from Giorgi Margvelashvili’s Avlabari residence. It was located in the presidential palace on Atonel Street of Tbilisi. The presidential residence in Avlabari was built in 2004-2009 by the initiative of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili.
