General Prosecutor's Office: Criminal case related to Meshali incident launched on January 11, 1992

The criminal case related to Meshali events was launched on January 11, 1992, Ilgar Safarov, the senior assistant to the prosecutor general on special assignments, said on TV, Report informs.

He said that on January 11, 1992, a criminal case was launched on the facts of genocide, deportation of people of Azerbaijani nationality, destruction and damage of numerous state properties in the village of Meshali.

On January 11, 1992, the staff of the General Prosecutor's Office inspected the scene of the incident in the village of Meshali, and the photos of the scene were presented by the official of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Saying that the identity of Vagif Cherkazovich Khachatryan was established as a result of the long-term investigation, Safarov noted that Khachaturyan has been wanted internationally since 2013.
