Decoded data from black boxes of crashed AZAL aircraft to be delivered to Astana

The decoded data from the black boxes of AZAL's aircraft that crashed near Aktau will be delivered to Astana in the coming days, the Kazakh Ministry of Transport said, Report informs.

"In the coming days, members of the aviation incident investigation commission are expected to arrive in Astana with the decrypted materials from the black boxes. As soon as the experts arrive, they will immediately begin studying the decrypted data from the black boxes," the ministry stated.

The Brazilian Aeronautical Accidents Investigation and Prevention Center (CENIPA) reported that it has completed the decoding of the black boxes from the AZAL aircraft. The center has already forwarded the investigation results to the relevant authorities in Kazakhstan.

"The responsibility for the analysis and conclusions to be published in the final report regarding this aviation investigation lies solely with the Kazakhstani investigation authority," noted the representative of the Brazilian Air Force.

The Azerbaijan Airlines plane, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed near Aktau in the Mangistau region on December 25. The aircraft carried 67 people, including five crew members. 38 people lost their lives, while 29 survived.
