Azerbaijan reveals number of people killed and injured by landmines over past year

In 2023, 58 people became victims of landmines and unexploded ordnance in Azerbaijan, according to the "Research-based report aimed at solving the landmines problem and unexploded ordnance in Azerbaijan" prepared by the Azerbaijan Campaign Against Mines Public Union, Report informs.

According to the report submitted by the Chairman of the Public Union, Hafiz Safikhanov, 19 people were killed and 39 others injured last year. All the victims are men.

The mine explosions took place in the Aghdam, Khojavand, Tartar, Lachin, Shusha, Jabrayil, Kalbajar, Khojaly, Fuzuli, and Tovuz districts.
