Azerbaijan implementing operation-search measures in districts bordering Russia

According to the mutual agreement reached between the ministers of internal affairs of Azerbaijan and Russia, complex operation-search and preventive measures are being carried out in Azerbaijan's border districts under the conditional name of Border-Shield, Report informs.

In connection with the conducted operations, police posts were established in appropriate places in Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Balakan, Zagatala, Gakh, Sheki, Oghuz, and Gabala territories.

The main purpose of the operations is the implementation of the decisions made on cross-border cooperation issues, the exposure and neutralization of members of transnational organized criminal gangs and terrorist organizations, and the implementation of complex organizational and practical measures in the field of identifying and preventing the channels of inflow of financial and material resources intended to implementation of illegal acts.

Such complex operational-search measures are carried out regularly, with strict adherence to the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms, as well as the national interests of Azerbaijan and the principles of the rule of law.

Complex operation-search and preventive measures under the name of Border-Shield will continue until June 25.
