Azerbaijan extends special quarantine regime

Azerbaijan has extended the special quarantine regime until 00:00 May 31, 2020 based on the current sanitary and epidemiological situation in Azerbaijan, preventive measures applied in other countries, as well as analyzing the recommendations of the World Health Organization. Report says, citing the Operative Headquarters of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Moreover, taking into account the rate of infection among the population and the dynamics of recovery of patients, the government decided to ease several restrictions.

Easing of restrictions is carried out in stages in Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Lankaran cities, Absheron district and other regions, based on the current sanitary and epidemiological situation, the number of patients and the speed of the infection spread.

In this regard, from 00: 00 May 4, 2020, in Baku, Sumgait, Ganja, Lankaran, and Absheron district:

- the activities of employees of the state institutions are restored in the prescribed number (the number of employees of the state institutions, the activities of which are resumed, will be determined by a relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan);

- DOST (Agency for Sustainable and Operational Social Security) centers resume activities to provide targeted state social assistance and bank cards;

- the operation of legal entities and individuals providing work and services to other business entities in various areas suspended during the special quarantine regime are resumed

- the activity of private retail facilities in all regions is resumed;

- barbershops, beauty salons, and facilities providing cosmetics services opened;
