ANAMA Chairman: 377 people affected by landmines since Patriotic War

As many as 377 people have been affected by landmines in Azerbaijan since the end of the Patriotic War, Vugar Suleymanov, the Chairman of the Management Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), told Report.

He said that Lachine will host a mobile meeting of the Working Group for Clearing Mines and Unexploded Ordnance.

"On our way to Lachin, we visited the operational areas. Currently, we are getting acquainted with the cleaning operations carried out in the Sarijalli village of Jabrayil district. The working group operating under the Coordination Headquarters regularly holds such mobile meetings."

The chairman noted with regret that the number of landmine victims is increasing: "Even though the dynamics have decreased, incidents still occur. Since the end of the war, 69 people have died as a result of these explosions, and 377 people were injured in the landmines."
