In 2023, 86% of the population of Azerbaijan were using the Internet, and the number of fixed broadband subscriptions per 100 inhabitants was 20, Report informs referring to the World Bank report.
The number of unique mobile Internet subscriptions in Azerbaijan last year amounted to 64%, and the volume of monthly mobile broadband traffic per capita was 2.3 gigabytes.
According to 2021 data, 43% of the country’s population over 15 years of age made digital payments.
At the same time, Azerbaijan scored 0.69 points in the UN e-government index.
“Several upper-middle-income countries have enjoyed exuberant growth in IT services exports since the pandemic. Among upper-middle-income countries, 6 out of the top 10 performers are from the Europe and Central Asia region. These economies achieved annual growth ranging from 30 percent to 130 percent during 2019–22,” reads the report.
