Center for Progressive Reforms of Uzbekistan, together with the Azerbaijani analytical center Caspia, is developing an information platform to boost mutual trade, Report informs, citing CEO and co-founder of the Uzbek center Mirshohid Aslanov.
According to Aslanov, the heads of both states set a goal to bring trade turnover to $1 billion. By the end of last year, this figure had already exceeded $800 million, but experts believe this is only the beginning and the trading potential of both sides is significantly higher, he said.
"We are working on an information platform that will help businesses better understand market opportunities and utilize existing potential. Analytical centers, for their part, will provide entrepreneurs with the necessary data to enter the markets of both countries. Available analytics allow us to say with confidence that our potential already exceeds one billion dollars," Aslanov noted.
He added that an already operating resource is being used as a base.
"We have the ots.proreforms.uz platform, which contains statistics on the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). Based on it, we want to show how Turkic states can develop trade and economic relations using real data, and how analytical centers can facilitate this process," he stated.
