The Turkish government is discussing the production of a national hybrid rocket in the country, Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said at the opening ceremony of the Teknofest Black Sea Aerospace and Technology Festival held in Samsun, Turkiye.
"While at one time our production of the first flag rope made the headlines, now we are discussing the production of the first national hybrid rocket that will take our citizens into space," he said.
The minister added that the number of applications to Teknofest is increasing: "The number of participants in the first Teknofest was 250,000. But today, the number of applicants participating in this festival has exceeded 600,000. This great success deserves to be applauded. Participants from 81 provinces of Turkiye and 107 countries take part in the festival."
