Smartphones will soon have "Under Display Camera"

Almost invisible Under Display Camera will be introduced to smartphones in 2021, Report informs, citing Twitter of a well-known insider, Ice Universe.

The second half of the year is when the Under Display Camera officially debuts, including at least Samsung (folding), Xiaomi (MIX 4), OPPO (folding), Vivo, and ZTE (greatly improved version).

The new technology involves using a combination of organic and inorganic substances in the area where the photosensor is located at the bottom of the screen. This makes a small area transparent for the camera, but it is not visible to the rest of the screen.

One of the first such smartphones was ZTE Axon 20 5G, released in the fall of 2020. However, the model was not so successful: the on-screen camera was criticized for the shooting quality, and even compared to the 2000's button phones.
