“We have projects of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), in which the Azerbaijan Space Agency (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport will also participate in the space sphere,” said Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Space Agency, Serdar Huseyin Yildirim, Report informs.
He noted that the 74th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Baku is a very important event: “We want to study Azerbaijan’s experience. We arrived at the congress with a large team, since it is taking place in a brotherly country. Türkiye presented its candidacy for hosting the astronautical congress in 2026. But I can say that we also consider holding this grandiose forum in Baku our success.”
The chairman of the agency noted that the first astronaut is being sent into space from Türkiye, and this is of great importance for the country: “The choice was very difficult. As a result, Alper Gezeravci and Tuva Cihangir Atasever received tickets for the flight.”
