Sahiba Gafarova: BSEC countries should form legal framework for artificial intelligence

Member countries of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) should establish legal frameworks in the field of artificial intelligence, the Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova said at the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (PABSEC) held in Baku, Report informs.

According to Sahiba Gafarova, the member countries of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization are united by common history, culture, and desire for peace: "Our activities are based on important principles. These include values such as democracy, respect, and trust. The decisions we make should not remain just words. They should be accompanied by concrete steps. Thus, dialogue between member countries of the organization should turn into real politics. We must create transparent mechanisms and focus our attention on sustainable development. The decisions to be made today should be both operational and strategic."

The speaker noted that in this sense, digitalization and green economy are of great importance: "Artificial intelligence is also one of the important topics. It already affects all areas. We should establish legal frameworks for this and ensure equal access to artificial intelligence for the countries of the region."
