As part of the 74th International Astronautical Congress, which opened today in Baku, a ceremony was held to present awards for great achievements in space exploration, Report informs.
During the opening ceremony it was emphasized that holding an event of such a scale in Baku symbolizes Azerbaijan’s inclusion in global space exploration opportunities.
SpaceX founder, CEO and CTO Elon Musk was announced as the individual winner. The winners among the teams were NASA, ESA, CSA, James Webb Space Telescope.
The IAF Excellence in International Cooperation Award was presented to Swiss-American astrophysicist Thomas Zurbuchen.
