Moldovan official: Cyber threats have no borders

Cyber threats have no concept of borders, Director of the Moldova Cybersecurity Agency, Mihai Lupașcu, stated during panel discussions at the 4th National Cybersecurity Forum in Baku, Report informs.

Lupașcu emphasized that countries must take practical steps toward cooperation: "Last year, the Moldovan government adopted all security requirements for critical infrastructure. Starting this year, we will be able to conduct security checks, verify whether the framework is properly implemented, and ensure enforcement capacity."

The director underlined that a major challenge in Moldova is the shortage of cybersecurity specialists: "It is not easy to find talented individuals who can provide expertise to the government. Therefore, we target and recruit people with the right motivation and then train them through various programs to enhance their skills. Of course, regulation and policy still play a major role, because without a proper framework, we cannot move in the right direction."
