Minister: Azerbaijan keeps investing in infrastructure to address digital gap

Azerbaijan continues to invest in infrastructural projects to address the issues of a digital gap, Azerbaijan's Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev said at the international conference GSMA M360 EURASIA 2023 that opened in Baku today.

According to Report, he said proper infrastructure and cybersecurity should be ensured and human resources should be developed to address the issue.

"We, as a country, treat this problem very seriously and fulfill the essential tasks. By the end of 2024, we expect all households to be provided with Internet. In this respect, infrastructure is a major part of our work," he said.

The minister noted that the issues of cybersecurity and digital development are on the agenda of the Azerbaijani government.

Nabiyev also noted the importance of holding today's event in Baku: "Due to Covid-19, a clear gap started to form between different geographical segments. In this regard, this event is very important, since its theme reflects the aspirations of the global governments, which many are trying to implement. This becomes very significant for building a more sustainable community, not only in our region, but also throughout the world."
