Microsoft’s market value exceeds $2 trillion

Microsoft Corp. became the second US company after Apple Inc., the market value of which exceeded $2 trillion, Report informs referring to Interfax.

The price of Microsoft shares on June 24 increased by 0.5 percent to $266.69. Based on this, the company’s capitalization is $2.009 trillion.

Microsoft stock quotes fell to a local minimum at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, but since then, they have almost doubled (by 96 percent).

Microsoft has introduced a new version of the operating system for the first time in almost six years. Windows 11 will be available via a free update for Windows 10 users and new PCs this autumn.

The market value of Apple, which first surpassed the $2 trillion mark in August, now exceeds $2.2 trillion. The company’s shares fell 0.2 percent on June 24.
