Japanese billionaire Maezawa cancels SpaceX Moon mission

In a stunning turn of events, Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa has announced the cancellation of his highly anticipated lunar voyage as a SpaceX space tourist.

According to Report, the disappointing news was shared on the Dearmoon project website and across the entrepreneur's social media channels.

Maezawa, who had originally planned to embark on this groundbreaking journey in 2023, has been forced to postpone the project indefinitely.

The 46-year-old tycoon, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and love of art, had secured all the seats on the SpaceX spacecraft destined for the moon back in 2018.

In a somber statement, the Dearmoon team revealed, "Unfortunately, the 2023 launch has become unfeasible, and there is no clear timeline for the foreseeable future. It is with a heavy heart that Maezawa has made the inevitable decision to cancel this project."

The specific reasons behind this sudden cancellation remain undisclosed.
