Gunnar Pahnke: We can launch 5G network in Azerbaijan

"We are building our mobile network in accordance with the wishes of subscribers. In this regard, if they want, we can provide them with 5G network," Gunnar Pahnke, CEO of Azerfon LLC (Nar), said at a press conference today.

Pahnke stressed that at present, they would be able to provide 5G services:

"But today, we do not see such a demand in our subscribers. I would also like to note that our base stations in our country currently can present 5G services. If any subscriber wants to use 5G network today, they can apply, and we can arrange it for them."

The company's commercial director Mushfig Aliyev announced the number of subscribers using smartphones:

"Currently, smartphone subscribers make up 77% of the total number of users. Internet traffic has increased by 66% in the regions and 17% in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula."
