Samsung has been the leader of the global smartphone market in the first quarter of 2023, Report informs referring to the leading analytical company of the global technology market Canalys.
The South Korean smartphone maker received a 22 percent stake. Apple, which has a share of 21 percent, was the second. Xiaomi held onto third place with an 11 percent share. Analysts noted that the fall in the global market is observed for the fifth quarter in a row, year on year sales fell by 12 percent.
The decline in interest in the new flagships of Apple was called the main reason for Samsung’s leadership. Also, experts noted that Xiaomi sales have fallen markedly, but the Chinese company managed to stay on the third position in the ranking.
The specialists note that the market decline was expected due to high inflation rates. At the same time, macroeconomic conditions improved slightly, and companies began to invest more in promotions and other marketing activities. According to the expert, the first signs of recovery in the industry are expected in the second quarter of 2023.
