Fariz Jafarov: Azerbaijan's digital economy development strategy to commence in 2025

Azerbaijan is gearing up to embark on a transformative journey with the implementation of its Digital Economy Development Strategy, set to be approved and launched in 2025, Fariz Jafarov, Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, told journalists, Report informs.

Jafarov revealed that the strategic document, which encompasses 51 initiatives targeting citizens, society, and the business sector, is already prepared and awaiting submission to the government. Among the key initiatives outlined in the strategy are the creation of a Digital Twin and the establishment of an Azerbaijani language corpus based on a Generative Artificial Intelligence System.

The CEO believes that the strategy will pave the way for essential opportunities, including the preparation and enhancement of human capital required for the digital economy, the promotion of innovations, and the expansion of the application of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, such as artificial intelligence solutions, in the national economy. Furthermore, it aims to further increase operational efficiency in management and facilitate access to digital products.

As part of the strategy implementation, research and analysis will be conducted to assess and continuously develop the digital economy ecosystem. Efforts will be made to create a favorable environment for the digitalization of businesses and the formation of new enterprises. Additionally, support will be provided to existing businesses undergoing digital transformation, and a data-driven decision-making environment will be established in the digital economy sector.
