Elmir Velizade dismissed from his post

President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to dismiss Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade from the post, Report informs.

Notably, Velizade was born in 1964 in Mingachevir and graduated from the Azerbaijan Institute of Petroleum and Chemistry (now the Azerbaijan State University of Petroleum and Industry) in 1982.

He joined the Presidential Administration in 1991 as a first-class specialist, has been the head of the Center for Information Resources and Technology since 1998, and the head of the Information Resources and Technology Department since 2005, and the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies since 2007. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies in 2014. Velizade has been the Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications, and High Technologies since 2018.
