Baku ID innovation festival kicks off

The Baku ID innovation festival, Azerbaijan's and the region's premier startup and innovation event, is currently underway in Baku, Report informs.

The festival, established with the support of SABAH.HUB Innovation Center has attracted an impressive lineup of attendees, including, the Science and Education Minister of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev and the Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov.

More than 200 local and foreign investors, over 100 foreign and local start-ups, 5,000 participants, and over 50 partners participate in this year's Baku ID festival taking place in Baku Crystal Hall.

One of the highlights of the event is a panel session focused on Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, Fariz Jafarov, the executive director of the organization, will be speaking on the panel "The Growing Role of Startups in Achieving Zero Emissions,".

The festival also features a 4SIM stand where visitors can learn about the center's activities and win coupons for free courses on the Coursera platform as part of the 4SI Academy initiative.

A significant development at Baku ID is the planned signing of a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding between SABAH Hub and 4SIM. This agreement aims to support the development of the local startup ecosystem within the framework of advancing the digital economy in Azerbaijan.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect for participating startups is the chance to tap into a $1 million investment fund. This substantial financial backing could be a game-changer for innovative new businesses in the region.

Attendees can look forward to a diverse program including, speeches from speakers from global technology companies, various panel sessions, presentations by regional startups, networking and other interesting activities.
