Azercosmos to host Space Agencies Leaders' Summit at COP29

As part of the upcoming COP29 conference, Azerbaijan’s Space Agency (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport will organize the "Space Challenges in Combating Climate Change: Space Agencies Leaders' Summit," Report informs, with reference to the Azercosmos.

The event is set to bring together top executives from 20 global space agencies, along with representatives from international organizations such as the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), the International Astronautical Federation, and the Commonwealth of Nations. Key players from the private sector will also be in attendance.

The primary objective of the summit is to unite global space agencies in the fight against climate change by harnessing the potential of space technologies. Through collaborative action plans and partnerships, this event aims to leverage the unique capabilities of space technology to address pressing climate issues.
