Azercosmos inks co-op agreement with Italy's Leaf Space

A long-term commercial agreement has been signed between Azercosmos and Italian ground control service provider Leaf Space. According to the contract, the ground station installed at the Azercosmos Main Satellite Ground Control Center will allow Leaf Space to receive information from various satellites passing over Azerbaijan, Report informs.

A state-of-the-art 3.7-meter S/X antenna system installed at the ground station will provide a wide range of solutions for processing, transmitting critical information from various satellites, telemetry and control between satellite networks and monitoring devices in space.

“The antenna installed in Azerbaijan to expand our global network of ground stations will increase the coverage of our services, and we are pleased to partner with Azercosmos,” said Leaf Space CEO and co-founder Jonata Puglia.

“The cooperation between Azercosmos and Leaf Space is an important step for the sustainable development of our joint space-related activities. This, in turn, testifies to the successful strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy,” Fuad Aslanov, Deputy Chairman of Azercosmos, noted.
