Azerbaijan to support foreign ICT companies

The Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport will support foreign ICT companies that want to enter the Azerbaijani market, Inara Valiyeva, the deputy chairperson of IDDA, said at the GSMA Mobile 360 Eurasia 2023 conference held in Baku, Report informs.

She also said that comprehensive measures should be implemented for every citizen to use digital services equally in Azerbaijan:

"Along with investing in infrastructure, we need to pay attention to other issues as well. Today, there is a gap between Baku and regions in the use of electronic services. In order to overcome this gap, there is a need to increase digital literacy. We think we can bridge this gap by developing a digital ecosystem. If there are those who support us in achieving this goal, we are ready to cooperate with them. Electronic services provided in Azerbaijan are mostly at the level of service centers. We are collaborating with the World Bank, the International Telecommunication Union and the German Agency for International Cooperation to expand the provision of citizen-oriented electronic services."
