Azerbaijan's space agency inks deal with Czech firm

Azerbaijan's Space Agency, Azercosmos, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Czech company PEKASAT SE.

According to Report, which cites the agency, the primary objective of this partnership is to expand the mutual use of ground stations for low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite operations and to create new business opportunities.

<p>Azerbaijan, a country with a rich history of scientific advancement, has been making strides in the space sector since the launch of its first satellite, Azerspace-1, in 2013. This new collaboration further cements Azerbaijan's position as a key player in the Eurasian space industry.

The cooperation between Azercosmos and PEKASAT SE will focus exchanging expertise in telemetry for their clients, that is receiving control signals and sending commands to satellites, transferring large volumes of data from satellites, operating ground infrastructure.

PEKASAT SE, a European joint-stock company based in Brno, Czech Republic, specializes in providing services for antenna systems, IT, and cloud solutions for satellite operators and other clients through its own ground stations.
