Azerbaijan's Central Bank repeatedly targeted by Armenian hackers during 44-day war

Armenian hackers conducted numerous attacks against the Central Bank of Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War, head of the department of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security Tural Mammadov said at the 5th International Banking Forum 'Cashless economy: reliable, safe and sustainable' in Baku.

He said all attacks were thwarted: "Armenian hackers conducted the DDoS-attacks that were blocked across the country. Later the hackers started phishing attacks. But we held monitoring every day, and their attempts were all in vain."

The state service official also provided the statistics of attacks blocked in July to September of this year.

"In the third quarter of this year, we blocked 45,910 malicious links using a firewall, 732,300 malicious programs using a centralized antivirus, and 11,015 malicious files using SandBox."
