Azerbaijan’s Azersky can survey up to 6 million square kilometers daily

Azerbaijan’s satellite Azersky is capable of daily surveying an area of 6 million square kilometers, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Space Agency (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport Dunay Badirkhanov told journalists, Report informs.

He noted that artificial intelligence can be used in processing these images: “Manual processing of these images is not possible. It is possible to use artificial intelligence to process this data. Our research in this area is ongoing.”

The official representative of Azercosmos added that a WebCIS system was created for the analysis of satellite images: “Analysis of satellite images for peaceful purposes can be carried out through geographic information online systems. The images presented by us are not publicly available, but our goal is to promptly convey them to our customers. You know that Google map contains images taken 6 months or 1 year ago. We transfer images promptly.”
