In order to expand the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in the field of transport, as well as to take appropriate measures to address the difficulties in international transportation timely and operatively, a sub-commission was established within the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the two countries, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
The first meeting of the sub-commission was held through videoconferencing.
The meeting was attended by authorized representatives of the relevant agencies of Azerbaijan. The co-chairs of the sub-commission were the Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov from the Azerbaijani side and the Deputy Minister of Transport Dmitry Zverev from the Russian side.
The meeting focused on the issues of motor, sea, railway and air transport, as well as digitalization of the transport and facilitation of border-crossing procedures.
Moreover, it was also agreed to study the prospects and existing challenges for the sustainable development of these relations and take joint measures to address them.
Along with this, the sides noted the high level of cooperation in the international transport corridors and emphasized the importance of the continuation of these relations.
At the end of the meeting, a Protocol was signed.
