Azerbaijan and SpaceXAI sign AI cooperation memorandum

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and SpaceXAI have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in artificial intelligence and related digital technologies.

According to Report, citing the ministry, the memorandum provides for the potential use of SpaceXAI's Grok-based solutions in public services and other priority areas of Azerbaijan's digital transformation.

The parties will assess opportunities to use AI within government agencies and consider the deployment of successful solutions in the public sector.

The signing ceremony in Baku was attended by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Hasanov and SpaceXAI representatives Dustin Yelinek, head of global government cooperation and Latin America; Reem Sadeq, head of global affairs and market development for the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye; and Neil Perkins, head of go-to-market for global government cooperation.

Hasanov said Azerbaijan had moved from discussing AI to implementing it. According to him, the memorandum will create opportunities to improve public services, including through mygov, and explore the use of AI in the country's national digital infrastructure.

The parties also agreed to cooperate in developing local capabilities and exchanging knowledge and skills. A roadmap covering pilot projects and technical demonstrations will be developed as part of further cooperation.

The implementation of each specific project will be based on a separate agreement.
