Azerbaijan and Iraq discuss cooperation in ICT

Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev has met with Iraqi Minister of Communications Arkan Al-Shaibani, who is visiting Azerbaijan for participation in the second session of the Joint Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Report informs that the sides discussed economic relations, including cooperation in the ICT sector between Azerbaijan and Iraq.

It was noted that this visit would contribute to the development of existing relations.

The sides stressed that digital transformation and innovative development are among the priority issues on the agenda of the Government of Azerbaijan.

In conclusion, Nabiyev thanked his counterpart for supporting Azerbaijan's position in international organizations, especially in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in adopting resolutions calling for an end to Armenia's military aggression against Azerbaijan, the liberation of the occupied territories, and the return of IDPs to their ancestral lands.
