Azerbaijan advances one notche in terms of internet speed

In September this year, Azerbaijan ranked 119th among 181 countries in terms of fixed broadband Internet speed with the average download speed of 29.29 Mbps.

Report informs citing the Speedtest Global Index that Azerbaijan has advanced one notche compared to August.

In terms of fixed broadband internet speeds, Hong Kong, a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China, ranked first (265.17 MB/s) and Cuba ranked last (2.13 MB/s).

Last month, Azerbaijan, with 44.88 MB/s, dropped two notches in terms of mobile internet speed, ranking 56th among 141 countries.

In the list of mobile operators, the UAE ranked first (211.58 MB/s) and Afghanistan finished last (4.89 MB/s).

In addition, in September, the city of Baku moved up one step in terms of mobile Internet speed (46.73 MB/s), ranking 72th among 169 cities. As for the speed of fixed broadband Internet, the capital of Azerbaijan has risen by one step and ranked 140th (29.52 MB/s).

Among cities, the first place in terms of mobile Internet speed was taken by Dubai (the UAE), with the download speed of 255.07 MB/s, and the last place was taken by the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul, with 4.73 MB/s.

The ranking of cities on fixed broadband Internet includes 190 cities. The UAE capital Abu Dhabi topped the list (270.24 MB/s), while Havana was the last in the ranking (2.13 MB/s).
